<YouTube video coming tomorrow>
How To Start A Music Career From Home: The Backstory
Now, if you know anything about me… The Big Homey Drew…
I’ve been coaching rappers from around the world for about 5 years now.
I’m humbled and honored to say that we’ve coached more rappers 1-on-1, as opposed to just shooting advice videos…
…Than anybody else online.
And with that experience, you start to see patterns. Some good, some bad.
One of the first patterns you begin to see is how rappers limit themselves mentally.
They put mental roadblocks that they can’t seem to get past until they take certain actions that will help them take THEMSELVES more seriously…
…And one of the biggest mental roadblocks rappers face is feeling like they aren’t a real “ARTIST” until they make a project.
Now, these days, a project can be defined as a full-length album, a mixtape, an EP… even a “playlist” as Drake called “More Life” a couple years back…
…But however you cut it, a LOT of rappers don’t seem to take themselves seriously unless they have…
A WELL-CRAFTED collection of songs to promote to potential fans.
Additionally, a lot of rappers AREN’T taken seriously by their friends or family until they can say that they’ve taken the time to create not just a song here or there…
…But an actual FULL length project.
How To Start A Music Career: You Don’t Need A Ton of Money
The worst part about all of this is that many rappers drag their feet on compiling this project that would take them into real “ARTIST MODE” because they feel they need to have a lot of money to do so.
They think they need to have a HUGE flashy studio or a throw a TON of cash into super skilled engineers…
…And if they DON’T have the money, they just procrastinate, or even worse…
Give up on music.
Now, having recorded MANY songs in makeshift studios AROUND the world on tour…
I KNEW that rappers DIDN’T need to throw a bunch of money into a flashy outside studio to make something hot…
…But I didn’t quite know how to express it in an organized, clear fashion that people themselves would take seriously.
To be frank, over the years that started to nag at me.
How can I be such a great coach if I don’t have a clear set of instructions for the up-and-coming rapper with a tight budget to make a great project like I did?
How could I say that I’m the most qualified to teach if I hadn’t made a super organized resource that rappers could come to time and time again to create an amazing project consistently?
What’s more important to me – a bunch of VIEWS and vanity metrics…
Or actually helping people?
I realized that if I didn’t make a clear, concise book for rappers…
They’re going to waste tons of money on promo for things that WON’T help.
I realized if I only made short, quick… “5 tips for rapping success” videos… people are just going to get addicted to more and more “quick tips”…
…And not actually take action on their dreams.
I realized that if I didn’t explain the EXACT methods I used to create songs on the CHEAP that literally took me around the world…
To far away places like Dubai, Argentina, and London…
…From songs I made in my BASEMENT…
…If I didn’t give away these secrets totally free…
I had NO right to call myself an expert in this industry.
So I thought and though about what to do…
I spent a lot of sleepless nights over a couple of MONTHS thinking of the best way to deliver these experiences to people…
This Changed Everything
And one day it hit me…
What if I was to make a free audiobook they could listen to in UNDER AN HOUR that lays out the entire process of making a great project from on a tight budget, step-by-step?
And when I say tight budget, I mean under $100 mostly using the tools they ALREADY have at home for things like soundproofing, mixing, and even WHERE to place the microphones to get the best sound?
What if I was to cover everyone on WHY to make a project vs. singles, how to record it on the cheap and probably most important…
…How to make money on the SIDE to finance your career while you do it so that you can pay your bills until your making music full time?
But I thought nah… I can’t just make it an audiobook…
I need to have text as well…
AND a video portion.
We live in the multimedia age where everyone can consume the product HOWEVER is best for them.
So that’s what I’ve done.
I’m making this article to officially announce “Self-Made Classic: How To Make A Great Project on A Tight Budget”.
It’s a 100% free resource we’ve put our blood sweat in tears in this spring to give you information on how to record an album from home that will transition you into going full time in music.
It’ll show you How To Start A Music Career From Home using affordable techniques in:
- Soundproofing
- Mixing
- Team-Building
And much more.
The best part about it (to me at least) is that it will come straight to your inbox in audio, video, AND written form so that you can consume it anyway you like.
If you want to just brush up on the information, you can check out the written .pdf anytime you want…
You can save it in your computer or phone, it’s yours forever.
If you want to listen to the audio for motivation on your way to work, school, or the gym… go ahead.
The audio portion is about 45 minutes long so you can get all the info quickly and start building.
The “videobook” as I call it, is nice because it’s on a unlisted YouTube link, which means you can play it at 2x speed and get the info even faster.
Overall the most important thing is that you have the information forever, for free…
And you can use it to now know how to start a music career from home no matter what your budget is.
